The sprawling Pong wetland has emerged as a major habitat for migratory birds in the country as also an attraction for bird watchers. Wetland popularly known as Ramsar site has been recognized internationally as one of the finest and largest wetlands of North India situated in the Dhauladhar mountain ranges of Himachal Pradesh
Day by Day Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Pathankot Railway station or Gaggal Airport then transfer to Birding Lodge at Pong Lake or Banjara Camp at Haripur. After check in and having some rest by the evening birding trip will take place with an experienced guide to explore the Birdlife by sailing boat or walking along the lake shore till the dawn. Back to lodge for dinner around campfire.
Day 2: After breakfast we will proceed for towards Sansarpur Terrace area this is an ideal place for marshland and water birds like Waders, Swamp hen, Jacana, Darters, Water hen, Crakes, Cranes etc. Packed lunch or lunch with local host family will be organized and evening back to lodge for overnight stay and dinner.
Day 3: After breakfast checkout from lodge and transfer to Birding Camp at Guler village. This is a fully serviced camping. Passing through Nagrota Surian and Haripur lake site and a picnic lunch enroute. Evening back to camp for dinner around bonfire.
Day 4: After breakfast departure to Pathankot or Gaggal airport.
